| About Your Christening Gifts | The birth of the company that runs Your Christening Gifts happened in bed just over three years ago. At that point I (Tony), was a web designer rapidly approaching my 40th birthday and thinking that I really should be doing something to mark this important milestone in my life.
I came upon the idea of building a website for people who were celebrating their 40th birthdays that would have information on the decades we grew up in, the toys, films and music of the time, and ideas for gifts and presents people might like to buy us. |
Within weeks the website www.yourbig40.co.uk was launched with no real budget and just alot of research and love from me and the help of my wife Donna.
The site grew over the first year with pages being added all the time about different events from the late seventies and eighties along with music pages and hundreds of gift and present ideas. We even branched out and added a new website called www.your50thbirthday.co.uk as we had many people telling us what a great idea the 40th site was and they would love to see a website that celebrated hitting that all important half century.
With the success of the websites and the enjoyment we got from working on them and updating each day we wanted to work on our ideas further and look at other areas we could build information site is that would be of use to people. It had to be something that we had experiance of ourselves along with being something that we were interested in so we would be happy to keep working on the site each day over the coming years. |

We have a son called Matthew who was christened at our local church. We were reasonably regular churchgoers at the time and had also helped and been godparents with my sisters three children Sam, Billy and Jess and this put the seed in our minds about quite how much work goes in to a nice christening.
Once my sister and brother-in-law George asked us to be godparents for their fourth child Amy, we decided to go ahead with George who was also apart of our company.
We realised that not everybody goes to church regularly but many people still wanted to have their children christened and might appreciate a little help and advice if it is something they have never done before.
Yourchristeninggifts.co.uk was then launched with as you can see, many pages on planning a christening from church to christening gown and the drinks for the celebration after.
We also work with some of the countrys leading retailers of christening gifts to offer a vast array of christening gifts for every taste and budget giving pretty much the whole christening planning service.
